The largest painting I have done at 36x60, was chosed as the 'Print of the Year' 2002 for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. The background was taken from a hiking trip to British Columbia in 1990. Late September, I wanted to portray the lush-moisture of the mountains, during the early season. Usually afraid of the color green, I used it well and have been told by many hunters that the painting reminds them of that time of year. Its also a good example of where I was going in 2002, using bigger strokes in the background and loosening up everything except the elk.
