| All my dog paintings are portraits of dogs I have had. "Boss" was my first hunting dog, I got him back in 1982. I bought him for $75 from a backyard breeder, trained him myself and though hard-headed, he was a fine dog. He naturally pointed pheasants as he got older and was a very good duck dog. He was also very handsome with his black nose and dark eyes. In this painting he was older, and wet from a morning duck hunt, I loved the light in the shot, and knew it had to be paintied. |
