I love painting Yellow Headed Blackbirds, I have access to them in the spring in western mn. I make an annual trip to our hunting shack to check on the cabin and photograph these birds. By July, they are gone to places further West. I did a lot of experimenting with this painting, palette knife work in the background and good texture on cattails.
