"The Ngorongoro Crater was the inspiration for this painting. I've been to Africa twice and I love Tanzania. A realistic animal with a very experimental background was the recipe for this piece. This painting sold at the Dallas Safari Club 2018 auction in January 2018.

In the crater, there are only male elephants, no cows or calves. The bulls climb over the 2500 foot crater rim, down into the Lake Manyara Preserve to breed the cows. Then go back to Ngorongoro to spend the rest of the year.
