"Rough Water Loons 3"

| This 3rd and last of the Rough Water series features the baby loons. Finding babies; you have about 10 days from their birth til they are too big and swim on their own. The key of course, is to find them when they are on their parents backs. My friend Tom knew where there were 4 nesting pairs on this one large lake, and our timing was perfect for two of the familes. I don't know if its true, but I've been told that the male loon has a more squared- off head like the loon in the foreground. |
