After visiting Africa twice and getting a lot of great photos for reference material, I lost interest in doing African paintings. In the early 90s everyone and their brother started painting African and most had not been there. I was going to paint African strictly for the money. A good enough reason to do something, but not a good reason to paint something. I decided to stay with North American which I know and understand. Also, at the time, I was switching to oil paint and started painting landscapes as well as wildlife. But this was one of my efforts in African art. I sent it to the Decoys and Wildlife Gallery in Frenchtown , NJ and it sold quickly. |
