30 x 30 Oil on Canvas
Whitetails in motion can be difficult to paint. I got a shot similar to this last year, although the main buck was much smaller. With the help of 30 years experience painting deer, I was able to turn him into a big running buck. Other than the deer, very little detail has been painted. I like the 'painterly' style of this piece, very loose for the most part. A deer drive is done by having hunters push deer out to others waiting in a clearing. The deerhunters out there will know what a 'dream drive' is!
