| I was on a field painting trip to a local farm, Gale Woods. After doing a small painting of a tree, I went looking for some chickens. I was fortunate to find some free-range chickens in beautiful early morning light. I took a shot of the cattle as an afterthought. Later in the studio, I saw some possibilities for an interesting composition. The white band of the 'Belted Galloway' cow balances the painting. I donated a canvas print of this image to the City of Minnetrista. |
