040 - Spring Chickens
16x34 oil on canvas I was out field painting at a farm (Gale Woods) near my home. I finished my small painting, and noticed a worker opening up a chicken coup in a field. The light was awesome, I took a lot of shots of the chickens and took one shot of the cattle (belted galloway and angus) as an afterthought. I put the painting together in the studio. This painting recently won an award of excellence at the Natureworks show in Tulsa.

46 - Old Wagon-Cattle
12x20 oil on canvas This is my first painting of cattle, it started as a painting of the wagon. I didn't think it was enough and added the Hereford cattle later. It began a series of domestic animals that I have ejoyed doing this last year.
