This large painting of the Canadian Shield country of Northern Minnesota and NW Ontario, depicts my feelings for the ruggedness and beauty of this land where I have spent so much time. In my youth, we did Boyscout canoe trips out of Ely and Grand Marais, Minnesota. As an adult, I have had a passion for fishing that has brought me to this country on many occasions. Regardless of my reasons for being there, this part of the country is as beautiful as any place in the world.

004 - Southbranch Creek
20x50 oil on canvas. In Southeastern Minnesota, down by Preston, runs the Root River. The South Branch of the Root runs through Forestville State Park where we like to camp. Not only is it beautiful, but it has great fly fishing for trout. This area of the state is very pastoral and I will be doing alot of painting here in the years to come.
